Wreckfest Saturday Afternoon.

As we often do with these musings, we start with an emotional peak and work our way back to see how we got there. So, if Saturday night was a crescendo of Charlottesville sound and fury, this is how it was built. Saturday afternoon. The vibe was definitely more intimate. A feeling out if you will. The bands feeling out the audience and the audience feeling out a few beers and canned cocktails.

CR from DR — Chris and Ryan from Disco Risque (who would play a major role in the detonation later that night) opened the doors, those baby faced phenoms Hash proved just how good a band can be before they’re old enough to legally purchase, possess or consume alcohol (seriously, keep your eye on this outfit), Travis Elliot consumately repped our Cville area singer songwriters, and Dropping Julia massaged some seriously tasty Amy Winehouse vibes on a crowd that was getting on board.

And of course the Disco Risque / Colander family worked their beans off to keep the train on the tracks and rolling basically forward. If you missed it, there’s always next year so, you know, don’t make the same mistake twice. And if you were lucky enough to be there from the start, the above vid does it’s best to capture your ride.

Give it a look-see.
