Say Hello to Blue Ridge Sound Collective.

From the get-go at this local music blog, there was no question I would ask Russ Bazydlo to jump on board. No one goes to more shows. No one is more fun to go to shows with. His love of live music is infectious. He doesn't just love it, he needs it. And he cares and thinks deeply about our bands.

His work here, particularly for heavier bands like Heaviside and Uga Buga, has been outstanding.

And now, Russ is leaving to start a new project, I'll let him describe it in his own words:

Over the past few years, one of my favorite things about being part of Cville Soundcheck has been the opportunity to connect with artists, venues, promoters, and music fans across the region.  Through all of it, I realized something, there are so many incredible bands with talent, vision, and work ethic, but not always the strategy, support system, or industry connections needed to break through to the next level.  That realization is what led me to launch Blue Ridge Sound Collective.  BRSC is focused on artist growth, promotion, partnerships, and long-term development, helping bands build not just awareness, but momentum. 

My approach combines years of experience in relationship building, strategy, branding, and live music culture with a genuine passion for helping artists succeed.  This is not about chasing trends or pretending to be a label.  It is about building real partnerships with hardworking bands and helping amplify what already makes them special.  Cville Soundcheck will always mean a lot to me, and I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who supported us along the way.

Cvillesoundcheck does not have a revenue stream, we remain an independent voice. The only thing that drives what we write about is do we love it? No one could represent an artist and write about them without bias. Not even Russ. So we're saying goodbye and good luck.

But only on these pages. Russ and I will always go to shows together and we wish him the best in this exciting new endeavor.
