April Showers 4/3/25: Koda Kerl at Durty Nellies.

It was the perfect kick off to this amazing April of Live Music in Charlottesville.

Chamomile & Whiskey’s frontman in the back of a pick-up truck in the Durty Nellies parking lot on a warm Spring night.

Coors banquet in bottles. Hot pretzels. A packed house with friends and family, Durty regulars, C&W fans, even the president of CAMBC (our local mountain bike club) rolled up after a ride. Koda played some ceeanddub faves like “Hard Luck Rain” above, as well as some new stuff and he alluded to an upcoming solo project!!!??? Jesse Fiske joined for a few songs.

Not gonna lie. Durty Nellies is the true beating heart of our local music scene. There may be bigger, but there ain’t better.

O.K. we’re gonna keep these “April Showers” posts short and snappy and try to keep up with the April avalanche of great shows.
